Afifa Khanam, Anwar Shahadat, NEW YORK — The Polish-American community gathered on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Sunday, October 4, for the 89th Annual Pulaski Day Parade.
The parade featured Polish-American organizations, schools, youth groups, dancers, musicians, community groups, and other participants. Many carried Polish and American flags and wore traditional clothing as they marched along Fifth Avenue.

This year’s parade was held under the theme “For Our Freedom and Yours,” honoring Generals Casimir Pulaski and Tadeusz Kościuszko and recognizing their connection to Poland and the United States. The celebration also marked the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Dr. Iwona Korga, president of the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America, served as the Grand Marshal. The parade began at 12:30 p.m. on Fifth Avenue.

The annual event brought together members of the Polish-American community to celebrate Polish heritage, culture, and traditions in New York City.
