Anwar Shahadat, New York, New York City hosted the annual India Day Parade in Manhattan on Sunday. The event celebrated India’s Independence Day and Indian culture.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul attended the parade. Several elected officials, cultural organizations, community groups, and other participants also joined the celebration.
The parade featured Indian flags, cultural performances, music, traditional dress, and community participation. People from different parts of the Indian American community came together for the event.
The parade also demonstrates for the cultural organizations an opportunity to showcase India’s diverse traditions. The participants represented different regions and communities from across diverse parts of India.
The India Day Parade is held each year in New York City to mark India’s Independence Day. It has become an important cultural event for the Indian American community in the New York area.
