Admiral Steve Koehler, commander of the US Pacific Fleet, will pay an official visit to Bangladesh from 4 to 6 August to discuss expanding bilateral defense cooperation.
According to a press release from the US Embassy in Dhaka, Admiral Koehler is scheduled to arrive in the capital on August 4.
During the visit, he is expected to meet senior Bangladeshi officials to discuss the longstanding US-Bangladesh defense partnership and opportunities to strengthen cooperation.
The discussions will focus on maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and professional military education, the embassy said.
The visit comes just three days after US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor’s recent visit to Bangladesh.
