King Charles to Attend 9/11 Memorial Event With NYC Mayor Mamdani

AIP Wire Report, New York / Washington.

King Charles III is scheduled to visit the United States from April 27 to 30 as part of an official state visit that includes stops in Washington, New York, and Virginia.

During his New York visit, the King is expected to attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, where he will be joined by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other officials.

While both figures will be present at the same event, officials have clarified that no private bilateral meeting is currently scheduled between the British monarch and the mayor.

The New York appearance forms part of a broader diplomatic itinerary that includes a White House state dinner hosted by Donald Trump and a planned address by the King to a joint session of Congress.

The visit is widely seen as an effort to reinforce U.S.–U.K. relations during a period of geopolitical tension, with ceremonial events such as the 9/11 memorial carrying both symbolic and diplomatic significance.
