Deputy Secretary Landau Meets Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Washington

February 19, 2026 — U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Washington on the margins of the Board of Peace meeting, the State Department said in a readout attributed to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott.

During the meeting, both sides welcomed what they described as a growing U.S.-Cambodia bilateral partnership and discussed a range of regional and international issues. Among the topics raised were developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border, efforts to combat online scam operations targeting American citizens, and expanding defense and security cooperation.

The two leaders also explored opportunities to strengthen trade and investment ties, underscoring ongoing economic engagement between Washington and Phnom Penh.

Deputy Secretary Landau expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Manet’s decision to join the Board of Peace as a founding member. The initiative seeks to advance international cooperation in promoting peace in Gaza and other conflict-affected areas.

The meeting reflects continued diplomatic engagement between the United States and Cambodia amid broader regional discussions on security, economic growth, and transnational crime.
